The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust was formed almost 50 years ago and is the only charity dedicated to conserving, protecting and enhancing local wildlife. They manage over 50 wildlife reserves across the two counties of which they claim many to be the most important places for wildlife and that you are never more than 8 miles from a Trust reserve!

They work in partnership with 46 other Wildlife Trusts around the UK all of which are independently and locally run charities. Their aim is to achieve a vision of wildlife-rich Living Landscapes and Living Seas. Their conservation projects provide many benefits for local people and current projects include the Loddon & Eversley Heritage Project, the Itchen
Navigation Heritage Trail Project and the Grazing Project.

They provide advice and support to farmers and landowners as well as to community groups on how they can help their local patch. Also, they collate and manage a wide range of wildlife information and resources, and actively encourage people to let us know the wildlife they see so that we can monitor the species found in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
