Making a Difference to Daily Living
At Southern Co-op we are proud to be able to infuse our same strong ethos of ‘making a difference’ through to our online e-commerce business. Belonging to an Independent Co-operative Society that was established over 140 years ago, Co-operative Independent Living (CIL) is able to provide customers an online shopping experience that not only offers unrivalled added value but one that they can trust.
Co-operative Independent Living – The Past, The Present and The Future
CIL was conceived from a conversation in a board meeting where one of our Directors, who was experiencing difficulty walking and needed to purchase a walking stick, asked where he could buy one that would be right for his particular ailment. This led to further questioning about where members could go to purchase mobility and living aids that would meet their needs and how they could trust where they were buying them from. This questioning initially focused on an ageing population but insightful customer research quickly identified that a range of products which make life easier could benefit others, including those with injuries (short and long-term), disabilities and other impairments.
A genuine commitment…
By staying at the forefront of the aids for daily living industry, combined with listening to our customers and professionals such as Occupational Therapists, CIL aims to continually innovate and offer a finely tuned product range.
Supported by specialists…
Our experienced Occupational Therapist, Helen, supports our customer service team, offering general occupational therapy advice over the phone and guidance about the best products available to meet their needs. Helen has personally recommended a large number of the products we offer and knows that often the simplest idea makes all the difference.
