Alton Infant School pupils serenade shoppers at store opening

Alton Infant School reopen The Southern Co-operative's store Alton High St

Pupils from Alton Infant School sang an eco-themed song to officially open The Southern Co-operative’s newly refurbished store in Alton High Street (Saturday 3 October) with store manager Karina Houghton.

Karina said: “Our new look store has gone down really well with customers, there is a much greater range of produce now, giving customers greater choice. Even though the space inside is the same as before, many of our customers are commenting that the store feels bigger and more spacious with the new layout. It’s lovely to welcome our regular shoppers as well as many new faces; we hope that they continue to enjoy shopping here.”

As well as treating the first 50 customers to a complimentary box of chocolates on opening day, shoppers have the chance to win £150 vouchers to spend instore simply by giving their feedback about the new look store by 20 October. The Southern Co-operative donated £500 to Alton Infant School by way of a thank you for opening the store.

The Southern Co-operative is a regional business owned by its members, and has over 180 community stores across the south of England. Its Alton High Street store is open 6.30am – 11pm, seven days a week.
