Bumble from the Honeypot Children’s Charity helped cut the ribbon to open The Southern Co-operative’s new food store on Long Lane, Holbury, and received a £500 donation.
The Southern Co-operative’s new store is home to a large range of fresh produce and chilled food options, an array of pastries freshly baked in-store every day, a locally sourced, Local Flavours product range and hot food and coffee to go.
Laura Coleman, Regional Fundraising Manager for the Honeypot Children’s Charity, said: “The Honeypot Children’s Charity provides respite care and on-going support to young carers and vulnerable children aged 5 to 12. We were delighted to be chosen by The Southern Co-operative to be part of the opening ceremony for their new Holbury store and thrilled to receive their donation of £500. This will fund one child’s support for a whole year including a respite holiday, three Playbus visits in the local community, as well as a birthday card and Christmas present. Thank you from all at Honeypot and we wish you every success with your new store.”
The community food store will be open from 7am until 11pm seven days a week with a free-to-use ATM and plenty of car parking.
Will Baddick, Store Manager for The Southern Co-operative Food store in Holbury said: “It’s been really exciting to open this store in the heart of the Holbury community. So far customers have been really pleased with their in-store experience and we’re looking forward to welcoming new customers into our store! It has been fantastic to work with the Honeypot Children’s Charity for our store opening and we hope to build a lasting relationship with the charity and engage as much as possible with our local community in future.”
