White Lodge Centre, a disabled persons support centre, helped cut the ribbon to open The Southern Co-operative’s new food store on New Haw Road, Addlestone, and received a £500 donation.
The Southern Co-operative’s new store is home to a large range of fresh produce and chilled food options, an array of pastries freshly baked in-store every day, a locally sourced, Local Flavours product range with a hot food and coffee to go deal for just £2.00.
Catherine Thurston, Sports and Challenge Events Fundraiser for White Lodge Centre, said: “We are delighted that The Southern Co-operative Food store in Addlestone has chosen to support White Lodge Centre, support from the local community is very important to the charity. The £500 donation is a wonderful amount to receive! This will help the charity to continue providing its vital services for the local disabled children and adults that it supports. We are very much looking forward to working in partnership with the store in future.”
White Lodge Centre supports disabled children, young people and adults, families and carers in Surrey and the surrounding areas. This is achieved by providing high quality, innovative and individually planned services.
Lisa Willis, Store Manager for The Southern Co-operative Food store in Addlestone said: “It’s been really exciting to open this store in the heart of the Addlestone community. So far customers have been really pleased with their in-store experience and we’re looking forward to welcoming new customers into our store! It has been fantastic to work with the White Lodge Centre for our store opening and we hope to build a lasting relationship with the charity and engage as much as possible with our local community in future.”
The community food store will be open from 7am until 11pm seven days a week with a free-to-use ATM and plenty of car parking.
