Puppies from Eastbourne Guide Dogs helped cut the ribbon to open The Southern Co-operative’s new food store on Beatty Road in Eastbourne and received a £500 donation.
The Southern Co-operative’s new store is home to a large range of fresh produce and chilled food options, an array of pastries freshly baked and available in-store every day and a hot food and coffee takeaway deal for £2.00.
Marion Williams, Branch Organiser for Eastbourne Guide Dogs said: “I chose to support Guide Dogs as my 5 year old Grandaughter, Orla, has a sight loss and she has been helped by Guide Dogs who have provided her with a buddy dog, called Elanor. It has really made a life changing difference to Orla and we are so grateful for the help and support Guide Dogs has given to Orla and our family. I also recently moved to Eastbourne and so when I heard that Guide Dogs wanted to start a new fundraising group, I put myself forward as I wanted to give something back to the charity, Guide Dogs.”
The community food store will be open from 7am until 11pm, seven days a week with plenty of parking available.
Peter Double, Store Manager for The Southern Co-operative store in Eastbourne said: “It has been fantastic for my colleagues and I to be part of The Southern Co-operative’s new food store in Eastbourne! We have had a really positive reaction from all the customers who have popped in so far and we’re looking forward to keeping up their high expectations of us. We are very thankful to the Eastbourne Guide Dogs who helped us to cut the ribbon and open our new store today! They are a fantastic cause who does a lot of work to benefit those living in our local community and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the near future.”
