The Southern Co-operative’s new store is home to a large range of fresh produce and chilled food options, an array of pastries freshly baked and available in-store every day and a selection of locally sourced products in the store’s Local Flavours range.

The Southern Co-operative Food Store in Romsey is officially opened by Euan Douglas from Romsey Round Table, Chris Watkins, Store Manager and The Southern Co-operative store colleagues.

Euan Douglas from Romsey Round Table said: “Romsey, Chandlers Ford & District Round Table are delighted to accept this cheque from The Southern Co-operative. Each year we raise around £6,000 through the Santa Sleigh and Mummers plays at Christmas which local good causes put to fantastic use, but each year applications for grants get turned down as we just can’t support them all. This generous donation will allow local groups to do more to support the local community.”

The community food store will be open from 7am until 10pm, seven days a week with plenty of parking.

Chris Watkins, Store Manager for The Southern Co-operative store on Botley Road, Romsey, said: “My colleagues and I are thrilled to be part of The Southern Co-operative’s new store in Romsey. All of the customers we have met in the store so far have been extremely positive about the large range of fresh food we have available and we hope to continue to exceed their expectations!”
