Pupils from Wimborne Infant School in Southsea cut the ribbon at The Southern Co-operative store in Winter Road to officially reopen the newly refurbished shop.
The opening created much interest locally with queues forming for the opening (Thursday 8 May), despite awful weather. “The renovation has really improved the layout of the store, including wider aisles to make it easier to shop and an improved range of produce, particularly more chilled and fresh produce, which has gone down well with our customers”, said Store Manager Ken Whatsize. He added: “The new store has gone down really well; everyone loves it which we’re really pleased about!”
The Southern Co-operative donated £500 to Wimborne Infant School to celebrate the reopening. Customers have the chance to win £150 co-operative vouchers simply by giving their feedback about the store by 26 May.
The store, which is located at 111-113 Winter Road in Southsea, is open 7am-11pm seven days a week.
