The Southern Co-operative are inviting all four legged friends to put their best paw forward and come along to Portsmouth’s biggest ever Bark in the Park event on Sunday 9th September at 1000 Lakeside, Western Road, Portsmouth.
Bark in the Park will be a brilliant social event where dogs and their families can get together and walk around the lake at Lakeside to help raise funds for The Southern Co-operatives corporate charity, Canine Partners. Canine Partners is a registered charity that assists people with disabilities to enjoy greater independence and quality of life through the provisions of specially trained dogs.
As well as the sponsored walk, there will be lots of extra activities guaranteed to get tails wagging and keep you and your pooches entertained… a hog roast, BBQ, refreshments, doggy treats and toy stalls, children’s entertainment including a bouncy castle, treasure hunt and a magician. Plus for pooches that want to be pampered after their walk, doggy grooming will be available. And if those paws are hurting there will be a vet on site to offer advice on recovery, as well as day to day problems such as flea control and weight management.
Registration starts at 10am
Dog walks start from 11am
Activities available from 10am – 3pm
Last lap of the lake – 3pm
For all those taking part in the dog walk around the lake there will be an entry fee to the event, £5 per dog and £2.50 for each additional dog from the same family. Spectators can watch the action for free.
Bark in the Park’s Raffle – At only £2.50 a ticket, you have the chance to win one of many amazing prizes. First prize ‘a weekend for 2 in a European City of your choice’, second prize ‘A romantic autumn break for 2 in the 4* Atlantic hotel in Cornwall’. Winners to be drawn at the event!

Terms and Conditions
Please ensure you read these terms and conditions of entry:
- Under 16’s may take part in the event as long as they are accompanied by an adult who takes full responsibility for them and the dog throughout the walk.
- All dogs must be fit and healthy and used to walking similar distances
- A complete circuit around the lake will take around 35-40 minutes at moderate pace.
- Dogs must be at least 6 months old and fully vaccinated.
- All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
- Water and waste bags will be provided but please feel free to bring your own supplies.
- The organisers cannot be held responsible for any injury, accident, loss, damage or public liability.
