18th July 2012 – Today, specialist disability, mobility and healthcare equipment provider BenefitsNow Shop rebrands as co-operative Mobility, the culmination of a number of strategic changes to the business following its acquisition in 2010 by co-operative Xest (the aids for daily living arm of The Southern Co-operative).

Co-operative Xest relocates to larger Warehouse

Due to continued expansion of the business, co-operative Xest, mail order and online retailer of Aids for Daily Living, has relocated to larger, custom premises within Hampshire.
Andrea Dipple, Managing Director at co-operative Xest said “I am thrilled to announce our move to a much bigger location. With the new facilities, we can continue to serve our customers outstanding service and the larger warehouse also gives us the opportunity to increase our great range of Mobility and Living Aids which can help make life easier”.

Co-operative Freshwater Re-Launch Community Support Card Scheme

Co-operative Freshwater celebrated the re-launch of its Community Support Card scheme with a Jubilee inspired Cream Tea party. It was held at Freshwater Memorial Hall which is one of the beneficiaries of this year’s fundraising initiative. The FYT Bus is also set to benefit from the scheme which in the last two years has raised £70,000 for local good causes in Freshwater. Over 200 people braved the weather to enjoy the indoor street party complete with ‘shops’ and party food; the highlight being a performance by the local Gospel Choir.

New Co-op store opens in Foundry Lane, Southampton

On Thursday 30th May 12 pupils from Foundry Lane Infant School joined the store Store Manager to help cut the ribbon and open our newly reformatted neighbourhood Co-operative store in Foundry Lane. The pupils were very excited to be the first customers to see the new design of the store.

Co-operative Xest raises awareness of osteoarthritis as number of cases set to soar by 2030

Recent findings by Phillip Conaghan, Professor of Musculoskeletal Medicine and a report commissioned by Arthritis Care indicates a ‘ticking time bomb’ in the number of cases of osteoarthritis as an ageing population along with levels of obesity continue to rise over the next 20 years.

CSC launch Cowes 27th of May

The good causes set to benefit from the relaunch of The Southern Co-operative Community Support Card scheme at The Co-operative stores in Cowes have been announced. Cowes Youth Forum and Storeroom2012 are the two groups chosen by a panel of people from the local community prior to the start of the fundraising period.
